The company’s founders, Renny Iordanova and Valia Iordanova, have been working together since the establishment of AFA, sharing ideas, difficulties and challenges.

Renny Iordanova is one of the first eight Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria who took the exam successfully and not only laid the foundations but is still participating very actively in the establishment of the audit profession in Bulgaria. Over the years, she was a member of the CPA examination commission, a member the Management Board of the Association of Certified Public Accountants, a chairwoman of the Interpretation Commission for issues related to the accounting and audit legislation, and now she is a chairwoman of the Supervisory Council of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Bulgaria and a well-known lecturer on IFRS and audit practice at ICPA.

Valia Iordanova was appointed in 1991 by the Ministry of Finance to specialise in London on audit issues and bring the expertise of the large international accounting firms for the setting-up of the audit legislation and practices in Bulgaria. In the recent years she was a member of the CPA examination commission, a consultant with the World Bank on a project for improvement of the accounting and audit regulations and practices in Bulgaria, an active member of the ICPA commissions for official translation into Bulgarian language of International Accounting Standards, International Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards on Auditing and a well-known lecturer on IFRS and audit practice at ICPA.

Renny Iordanova and Valia Iordanova are licensed by the Bulgarian National Bank and the Insurance Supervision Agency to carry out audits of banking and insurance institutions.
